Find Out Which Rummy Variant Is Perfect for You - MyTeamRummy

Rummy is a popular card game that comes with a lot of variants. Often people are confused about which variant to choose, or sometimes people like a certain variant so much that they never try any other variant. The 13-card Indian Rummy comes with a total of 4 variants, i.e., pool rummy, points rummy, deals rummy, and raise rummy. You can find the first three variants on almost all online rummy apps. The rules are not different among the variants, but the way to play is different in all of them. Of course, you have to make sequences and sets in all the variants. But the style is different. And every game has a different length of time. For example, points rummy is way shorter than pool rummy or deal rummy.

The majority of the audience play points rummy and pool rummy. Either players play points rummy; if not points, they play pool rummy. These two variants do not have much difference in them. The remaining users play deals rummy, and a minority play raise rummy. Raise rummy is the least played variant of rummy.

In this article, we will talk about the three major variants of rummy and what you should play.

Points Rummy

This is the shortest version in online rummy. In points rummy, the player plays only one hand. And the results of that single hand decide the winner of the game. It is the simplest form of rummy. After you are done making a pure sequence, an impure sequence, and a set, you can declare the game, and you win if the declaration is correct. You also win the game if your opponent drops the game. In this variant, points have a certain monetary value, and you lose funds according to your points.

Pool Rummy

Pool rummy is the same as points rummy but multiplied number of hands. Pool rummy can be played among as many as six players. There are two types of variants in pool rummy, 101 points and 201 points. In pool rummy, a person has to refrain from reaching the points value. The person who reaches the points value is eliminated from the game. And the last man standing wins the game.

Deals Rummy

Deals rummy is more or less like the pool rummy. The only difference is that pool rummy has not a fixed number of deals decided before the game. You don't know how many deals you would be playing in a pool rummy game. In deals rummy, you have pre-decided hand rounds, and after completion of those rounds, the winner is decided based on the points.

Conclusion

Which rummy variant you would prefer depends upon the time you have in your day. If you have a lot of free time, then you can download a rummy app that is famous for pool rummy or deals rummy. Otherwise, points rummy is the best choice for you.
